Some mothers hand express instead of using a pump but most prefer to use a pump

 

What kind of a pump do I need?

If you are separated from your baby for more than a couple of feeds per day, hospitalized baby a hospital grade pump is needed. If you work or go to school, a hand pump or small electric pump can be a less expensive but still effective option.  BABES has hospital grade rental pumps as well as electric and hand pumps available for purchase.   Our Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) can help you choose the correct pump for your needs .

 

 

Should I get a double pump?

Double pumping increases your milk-making hormones and shortens the amount of time of each pumping session.

How much does it cost to rent a pump?

BABES charges $50-55 per month depending on the type of pump you choose. Daily and weekly rentals are also available.There is an extra charge for the personal use kit.
