Postpartum Doula Services
What is a Doula? A doula is a woman who “mothers the mother” encouraging and offering comfort techniques. There are birth Doulas who help mothers through labor and others that help when you get home. B A B E S' doula service is for mothers as they return home.
Why would I need a doula? Returning home with one (or more!) babies can be a daunting task. Labor is exhausting and coping is harder if you are tired. Babies do not come with instruction books. Each one is unique. Click here to read more about the Doula's contribution to Modern Maternity Care. B A B E S' doula service will help you settle in, learn about baby care and breastfeeding in your own home. How comforting to have someone with years of experience with mothers and babies give you their undivided attention as you begin this wonderful new chapter in your life.
How expensive is the postpartum doula service? B A B E S charges $25 per hour for the postpartum Doula Service. Or $175 per 8 hour day or $250 per 16 hours (same 24 hour period).
Can a doula help with premie twins and multiples if they come home from the NICU? B A B E S’ doulas are experienced mother baby nurses. They can help you begin to transition to parenthood and learn to cope with all the changes as you welcome your new family members.
How long do most clients contract for doula services? The need for a doula is very individualized. That is why B A B E S offers hourly or daily options. Some families may want a doula 1-2 hours every day, say in the afternoon so mom can nap or after dinner as babies tend to be fussier then. Other families have a doula all day for a couple of days or a week. We will go to unpredidented lengths to exceed your personal needs.
